We seem to be blessed with perfect weather when it comes to hosting tournaments. The 2021 Pond Hockey Classic was sunny with not a cloud in the sky and we had the same sunshine last Saturday. The Szczecin Northstars had an amazing time playing roller hockey, running through the sprinklers, and making new friends all day! Trainer Neil Walsky is incredibly proud of the Szczecin Northstars and how well they played at thier first Roller Hockey Tournament. Rostocker Nasenbären was a tough opponent and the game results were nearly unpredictable! For some of our players, it was their first time participating in a hockey tournament or an official match.
Age Category 2013-2015
The little Szczecin Northstars played their first games on Saturday morning. They seemed to be a little nervous at the beginning of the tournament but quickly got the hang of playing a new opponent. They put in their best efforts and had many successes! We are very proud to have had them play so well. Congratulations Rostocker Nasenbären I, for coming in first place!

A big congratulations to Rostocker Nasenbären I for winning first place in the tournament in the 2010-2012 age category. The games were fiercely fought and one could not predict the results based on previous games! The players did incredibly well and continued working hard despite the heat. Thank you to everyone for your sportsmanship, enthusiasm, and tenacity.

Skills Competition
The Szczecin Northstars held a skills competition between the morning and afternoon matches. We had two age categories (2013-2015 and 2010-2012) and the Szczecin Northstars and Rostocker Nasenbären selected competitors for each event in both age categories. A big congratulations to the winners and to the players for giving their all!

The Szczecin Northstars are grateful to each person who shared their time and energy with us to clean up the rink on the evening before the match. A huge thank you to the volunteers who arranged for food and beverages for the tournament the cakes, sweets and fruits were great for the players and spectators.
Chris Dolinny and Marta Tatkowska - thank you for arranging coffee for the tournament, cleaning up the rink with us, and providing amazing photos of the players!
Łukasz Bartczak and Adam Dydek - What a grill! The players, parents, and spectators were very excited to enjoy the kiełbasa that you guys cooked up! Thank you for arranging everything from start to finish. Thank you to Adam for cleaning the entire rink and providing the water sprinkler to cool the kids off in the heat.

We had two amazing young men (Yan and Fynn-Ole) who refereed our tournament matches and spent the whole day on the rink. They arrived with the Rostocker Nasenbären and did a great job of running the games!
