Fit and size:
Proper Fit: Hockey skates should fit snugly to support a child's feet and ankles. When tying children's skates, make sure they are tight, especially around the ankles.
Size: Children's feet grow quickly, but buying skates that are too large can lead to poor control and blisters. Consider buying skates one size larger than your shoe size.
Comfort:
Padding: Make sure the skates have adequate padding and cushioning to ensure comfort.
Ankle support: Look for skates that offer good ankle support, which is crucial for beginners.
Adjustability:
Stretch skates: Some skates are adjustable and can grow with your child's feet, providing a cost-effective solution, but these skates are usually of low quality and do not offer enough ankle support.
Hockey Helmets
Full-face field hockey helmets protect against head and facial injuries. While there is no real protection against serious brain or head injuries, a properly fitted helmet is essential when skating. To make sure the helmet fits properly, put it on your child and make sure the helmet leaves no space between the head and the protectors. When turning the head left or right, the skin on the forehead should move freely. Make sure the cage's chin rests against the player's chin and the chin strap is properly tightened. Helmets and cages can be purchased separately to ensure a proper fit.

Protective Equipment
Shin Pads will protect shins and knees from contact with ice. It is difficult for children to train without shin guards because they often fall or slide on the ice on their knees, which can be painful without the protection provided by shin guards. The shin guards should fit from the top of the knee to the top of the foot.
Elbow pads protect children from falling on the ice onto their elbows. Make sure elbow pads are the correct size, as the wrong size can restrict arm movement or fail to protect the player.
Hockey gloves protect children's fingers, hands and wrists on the rink. This is an important item for new children who tend to fall frequently.
